I HAVE just read the letter headlined, “When I poured coffee for Jesus” (Letters, February 22). Two days earlier I read how Dame Judi Dench was having problems with her eyes.

Never have I seen any allusion to our own “Christ”, David Bradley, who appeared in the mystery plays in the late 1960s.

David lived in Burton Stone Lane, served an apprenticeship with Vickers Instruments prior to enrolling at RADA in about 1965.

He had been a leading light with Rowntree Players. I remember him well in West Side Story and also in revues. He also played with The Settlement Players.

I believe he roomed in London with Richard Beckinsale and after Richard’s death David presented a memorial to him on television.

David received a Laurence Olivier Award for his King Lear and featured in several Harry Potter movies.

At present he is in the BBC1 TV series Prisoners’ Wives and has had many roles.

When I see Dame Judi and Berwick Kaler (not a son of Yorkshire, let alone York) being made Freemen of the city and yet David seems to be ignored by all, it makes me very sad. Credit where it is due, let’s recognise this prolific actor.
