THE Crown Inn at Great Ouseburn has invested in a new food smoker to smoke its own fish, meat and cheese.
Paul Jackson, head chef and co-owner with his wife, Liz, is also experimenting with smoked vegetables.
He said: “We found it increasingly hard to source good quality smoked produce from suppliers so we thought we’d do it ourselves. Our new smoker saves us money and allows us to offer customers some new and more unusual dishes.”
