EAST Yorkshire residents are being urged not to leave valuable items in their vehicles after a spate of thefts at sports centres.
The break-ins have seen a sat-nav system and a black iPhone stolen from cars parked in Church Road, Stamford Bridge, and golf equipment taken from a Mini Cooper outside Bridlington Rugby Union Club.
A white iPhone 3GS, clothing and medication was stolen from a silver Peugeot 306 outside Pocklington Rugby Union Club in Burnby Lane on February 3, and on the same day two mobile phones, a wallet and cash were taken from a white Astra van at the same location.
