York Indoor Bowls Club staged a superb comeback in their North Eastern League match against Scarborough.
They countered from 71-46 down after 15 ends to 76-70 three ends later only to falter on the final end and lose 89-86.
Maggie Pallister, making her debut as skip, saw her team lead 12-4 after eight ends en route to a 24-16 triumph.
Pauline Cooper’s team rallied from a 15-5 deficit after 11 ends to lead 19-17 after a five on the 19th end. But victory was denied as they succumbed to a 23-20 loss.
Away, Pat Potter’s team also enjoyed a revival, pulling from a 25-8 deficit to just 25-20 with three ends to go. But they could not close the gap any further and lost 30-20.
Pat Bracken’s team trailed 17-4 after 12 ends and only lost 23-19.
