MEMBERS of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance have taken a tour of their new home at RAF Topcliffe, prior to moving in later this month.

The team, which is currently based at Bagby Airfield, visited the base, which is part of RAF Linton-on-Ouse, on Tuesday.

The air ambulance will share the airfield with the 645 Volunteer Gliding Squadron. The station commander, Grp Capt Terry Jones, said: “Today marks another step forward for Yorkshire Air Ambulance becoming operational at Topcliffe. This is a positive move for the charity and the RAF in Yorkshire.”

Grp Capt Jones also presented the organisation with a cheque for £2,000, money raised by the 2011 Tucano Display Team, also based at RAF Linton-on-Ouse.
