THE family of an East Yorkshire student who went missing 22 months ago want the police to launch a cold-case investigation into his disappearance.

Russell Bohling, a student at Bishop Burton College, was last seen by his family on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, when he was aged 18.

His car was later discovered abandoned at the car park at Bempton Cliffs, near Bridlington.

Despite a huge search and a lengthy police investigation, the circumstances surrounding Russell’s disappearance has never been solved and his body has not been found.

The family failed in a bid to take Humberside Police to court.

Police have said it is most probable Russell had an accident or killed himself, but although his family accept he is most likely dead, they have always believed that someone else was involved.

They wanted the search to be classed as a murder inquiry, but the force said it had no evidence of third-party involvement and continues to treat it as a missing person case.

Russell’s dad Roger said: “We are just waiting now for Russell’s body to turn up.

“We would like the police to carry out a cold case investigation, re-examining the evidence “hey missed at the time.
