UP TO 400 guests, including the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, turned out for an open day at a York garden.
Brunswick Organic Nursery held the event on Friday at the Walled Gardens near Bishopthorpe Palace, to show off the gardens to local people, following the renovation of the garden buildings.
Event co-organiser Lisa Ellwood said: "We were celebrating the new buildings.
"People have been going past the garden walls for years, wondering what's behind them and we had an amazing number of people turning up to see."
As well as Dr Sentamu, the Lord Mayor of York, Coun Janet Hopton, also attended.
