TWO of York's charity fundraisers came together to open a popular craft and food fair.
Miss York contestant Abbey Linfoot, who was named Miss Charity after raising £1,200 for our Guardian Angels Appeal, and Greek Orthodox Bishop Stephen, the leader of the York-based St Anne community charity, performed the ceremony.
The Bishop was also presented with a food hamper for his charity, which helps homeless people, to give to the refuge in Brownlow Street, York.
The fair, at Newby Hall, near Ripon, which was held from Friday to Sunday, included more than 100 trade stalls.
About 8,000 visitors enjoyed the 50th annual event and had the chance to sample Italian cheeses, olives and meats, watch woodturning or buy jewellery, fine art, clothes and toys.
There were also fairground rides, quad bikes, birds of prey, gun dogs and heavy horses on show.
