EUROPE'S victory over the United States in the Ryder Cup was thrilling. It represented the very best of sporting pride and endeavour. Sadly, the way a group of mindless York yobs chose to celebrate represented just the opposite. As the Ryder Cup heroes were breaking open the champagne, youths were using golf balls to smash the windows of a York school.
Fortunately, the vandals - none of them pupils at the school - were caught on CCTV. It shouldn't be long before they are brought to justice.
