DRUMS were beating, flags were flying and bayonets were fixed.
More than 100 soldiers marched through the streets of York as they exercised their Freedom of the City, on Saturday.
The soldiers from the second Signal Regiment were led by the Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai Band.
Accompanying them were the headquarter company of the fourth battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment, army cadets from the York detachment of B Company, members of the Royal Signals Association and Royal British Legion.
The colourful march started in Duncombe Place, moving along Museum Street, Lendal, Coney Street, High Ousegate, Parliament Street, Davygate and Blake Street.
