GOLFING buddies Dominic Bell and Alex Beattie were both green for go in the Forest Park Golf Club junior championship.
Dominic captured the title of junior champion after a glorious gross round of 87.
Such has been his recent progress capped by that victory that his handicap has now been cut from 25 to 18.
His fellow 14-year-old Alex, who, like Dominic, hails from the nearby village of Stockton-on-the-Forest, was also among the honours at Forest Park's junior jamboree. He carded the best nett score of 67 in the competition.
While all of Dominic's family play and are members of Forest Park, it was, indeed, Alex who first introduced Dominic to the game of woods and irons-work.
And the two pupils of Huntington School have since flourished among the greens and fairways at the scenic Forest Park track.
Said Dominic's mum Justine Bell: They're both good pals and are both mad about the game, so it was great that they should get in among the prizes at Forest Park."
