THE region’s finest young talent was showcased at a mini-festival hosted by North Yorkshire Centre of Excellence’s U11s, writes Dave Flett.
Teams from Lincolnshire, Teesside, Leeds and Sheffield joined the York College-based home team in a group of six-a-side games that saw all players rotate positions.
Results were not recorded from the non-competitive clashes but North Yorkshire Centre of Excellence technical director Gordon Staniforth was impressed with the quality on display.
He said: “It was a marvellous morning of football and the festival was a super opportunity to see young ladies deploy skill, enthusiasm and desire to play the game at the highest levels.”
