MAN of the match Corey Littlefield scored twice as Thorpe United Under-13s edged an eight-goal thriller against Queensbury Celtic in the Garforth Junior League.
Littlefield and James Arnold hit the bar in the first half before Sean Heselwood opened the scoring for Thorpe with a neat finish on his debut.
After the break, Richard Buckthorpe set up Sean Hymers and he made it 2-0.
Queensbury pulled a goal back but then James Arnold’s ball into the box was deflected beyond Celtic’s stranded ’keeper to restore the two-goal advantage.
Celtic were next on the scoresheet, but Thorpe responded when Littlefield turned a defender and fired into the net, and the same player then headed a fifth goal from Lewis Griffiths’ long throw.
Queensbury pulled another goal back at the death.
