I watched Sunday Morning Live on TV recently and one of the subjects up for discussion was “Should we teach sex in schools?”

As you might expect, it was controversial with many opinions, such as can we afford not to teach sex in schools with the largest number of unmarried mothers in Europe?

The day after, on The Wright Stuff, Mathew continued with his usual daily comment of “hide the sausage” to raise a laugh.

Later on it was the turn of This Morning, when sex was the main subject and the talk was of libido tips, sex drive, etc. To demonstrate they had a elderly man and woman in pyjamas on a bed, and proceeded to show positions for sexual pleasure for the elderly.

Many people do not want sex taught in schools, but not everyone can do the job properly at home, so what alternative do we have? Is TV really helping? I think not. I remember my lack of education in the subject, as well as history, geography, English and maths, but I did learn how to grow potatoes for victory, as my teachers were all recalled from retirement during the war.
