PART of York's outer ring road has been closed due to a fire in a lorry.
The fire began in a silver Mercedes lorry at about 2.30pm, near the junction of the A64 and A1237 near Copmanthorpe.
The driver of the lorry, believed to be from Wales, put out the flames using fire extinguishers before firefighters arrived, said a fire brigade spokesman.
The road has been closed by police. City of York Council is warning motorists to expect delays, and has changed the traffic light sequence on Tadcaster Road, to try to alleviate congestion.
