SO CHRISTIAN Vassie thinks they looked at all the data again (Letters, October 25).

US warplanes that made an emergency landing in Greenland at the beginning of the war could not take off again and were abandoned. In recent years, one was recovered after digging down through 280 feet of ice; some global warming.

I believe in climate change – both climate and political change now being experienced were predicted in the Bible more than 2,000 years ago. I cannot accept that man is to blame – at least not in the way that Mr Vassie believes.

Mr Vassie wants to address the problem – what does he suggest? If every person on earth immediately changed to a Stone Age style of living it wouldn’t make the slightest difference to the climate.

The facts of global warming are open to debate. I understand the oceans have heated up by 0.7 Celsius in 30 years – very dramatic! If the temperature rose by five degrees, the average sea level would rise by a maximum of 15 centimetres.

Every time the UN’s tame scientists make a prediction, they reduce the supposed effect on the climate. Given time they will agree with me.
