A YORK club has presented a cheque to The Island, a city-based charity supporting young people.
Nigel Poulton, left, is pictured receiving the cheque for £650 from York Ainsty Rotary Club member Steve Wilkinson, right, and the club’s vice-president Jim Murison.
The charity provides support to vulnerable children and young people aged from eight to 13 as they make the transition from primary to secondary school.
The charity is looking for people who can offer time as mentors, those who feel they can develop a positive rapport with young people.
To find out more, phone Nigel Poulton, mentoring co-ordinator, on 01904 628449.
