BURGLARS left a crutch behind after searching the home of an elderly Selby resident.
The raid took place at a property in Brook Street, between 2pm and 6pm on Saturday, October 22.
Offenders searched a cupboard which contained medicinal tablets after they gained entry through an insecure kitchen door.
North Yorkshire Police said tablets had been taken from the cupboard and were later found in the garden, along with a crutch, which did not belong to the resident.
A police spokesman said it was not clear whether the crutch belonged to the burglar.
Residents have been urged to report any information or suspicious sightings to the police on 0845 6060247, quoting reference 12110180447.
