THE latest in a series of bizarre live-art events will be held this weekend, when Bomber Bates And The Airfix Modellers perform before an audience of North Yorkshire model-makers.
Dylan “Bomber” Bates, musician and leader of improvisational group Waiting For Dwarfs, will play the special event at The Shed, in Brawby, near Malton, on Saturday, between 2pm and 4pm.
The show will include favourites from bands as diverse as The Beatles and the Glenn Miller Band, with musicians on violin, pocket trumpet, ukulele, spoons and a saw, while the audience is encouraged to build their own model aircraft.
To promote the show, which was created by Simon Thackray, who also created the Yorkshire Pudding Boat Race, he donned an authentic leather flying helmet and goggles and took to the cockpit of a Dakota aircraft at the Yorkshire Air Museum.
Tickets for the show cost £5 for adults, £3 for under-12s, and audience members should take their own models.
