THE Lord Mayor of York is once again extending a seasonal invitation to anyone aged 60-or-over to the popular Christmas Cheer reception in December.
The annual event will see current Lord mayor, Coun David Horton and Lady Mayoress, Jane Horton host the two receptions in the Assembly Rooms, alongside the Sheriff of York and Sheriff’s lady.
Coun Horton said: “The civic party look forward to welcoming some 200 of York's senior citizens at the annual Christmas Cheer event in the Assembly Rooms on December 7.
“This event always provides the opportunity for the members of the civic party to convey early Christmas greetings with a carol to those lucky enough to have been successful in the Christmas cheer draw.”
The reception will again feature a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, and there will also be a performance from York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir.
To be in with a chance of attending the event you can fill in the application form. Names will be drawn at random by the civic party on November 18.
Additional forms are also available from Guildhall Reception and the central and local libraries throughout the city from October 31.
