Cyclists who took part in the Selby Lions Great Selby Bike Ride earlier this year raised almost £7,000 in sponsorship.
The money has been donated to various charities, with St Leonard’s Hospice, Martin House Hospice, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and British Heart Foundation, each receiving £1,400.
Awards have also been presented to cyclists who raised most sponsorship, with special awards being presented to Janet Jackson and Wendy Ormsby, who raised jointly £640.
Lions president David Jones said: “We are very pleased with the amount raised, considering the pressures there are on people’s pockets.”
