A NUMBER of drivers have been taken to hospital after a pile up on the A1 in North Yorkshire, police have said.
Emergency services say eight vehicles are involved in the accident, which has occurred between Boroughbridge and Dishforth.
Some of the injured have been taken to hospital in Harrogate. None is believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
The southbound carriageway between junction 49 and 48 was closed, but has now re-opened.
