THE 12-year-old boy seriously injured in a road accident between York and Selby is on the mend police say, five weeks after being admitted to hospital.
The youngster was cycling in Kelfield Lane on September 22 when he was involved in a collision with a Ford Escort.
He was rushed to Leeds General Infirmary with serious head injuries and was in a critical condition.
He remains in hospital, but North Yorkshire Police said yesterday he was getting better.
A force spokesman said he was making a “slow and steady recovery”.
