REIGNING champion Charlie Payne will defend his title at the MEM Malton Forest Rally next month.
Ripon-based Payne has entered his Just Ferries-sponsored WRC Ford Focus in the rally, which will be held on November 6.
Other WRC cars entered include Steve Petch, of Scorton, in his Hyundai Accent and Thirsk’s Peter Stephenson, in his Able Ports-sponsored Focus.
Local crews expected to be competitive are York’s Jeff McNeil in his Subaru and Barton’s Yuk Hodgson, navigated by his daughter, Jemma, in their Mk II Escort sponsored by Solarwall.
The event is a counting round of several regional championships and is the second round of the Just Ferries Yorkshire Winter Rally Challenge.
