AFTER missing his first European Tour tournament cut for months, York’s Simon Dyson dropped two places in the world rankings.

The 33-year-old, who went home after the midway cut in the Portugal Masters last weekend, is now at 30th place in the global standings.

But Dyson remains at eighth in the Race To Dubai ratings after topping more than 1.3 million euros in prize money in 2011.

The Malton & Norton Golf Club star’s next outing is the HSBC World Golf Championships event in Shanghai from November 3 to 6.

Despite his world dip, Dyson is still in the automatic qualification places for Europe’s Ryder Cup team.

He is currently fifth in the world points, while Dyson is also sixth on the European points list (top five to qualify in the Continental rankings of those not already qualified on the world points list).
