A POCKLINGTON widower who has dedicated his life to raising funds for research into a devastating illness which killed his wife has organised a support meeting at the Burnby Rooms, The Balk, at 10am on Friday.
Michael Shepherd, 75, who lost his wife Shirley to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), said the meeting will be open to patients, carers and members of the public who may be interested in the little-known illness.
He said: “A special PSP nurse will be there to help, tea and coffee will be served and there will be a small, fundraising gift stall, and there will also be a team from York Alternative Therapy Clinic to offer neck and shoulder massage and advice. This is complimentary.”
