A HALIFAX bomber aircraft and a vintage Ctiroen car were rolled out at the Yorkshire Air Museum, at Elvington, ahead of a massive Anglo-French celebration later this month.
The museum, at Elvington, had the vehicles on display yesterday as it prepared for The French In York week, which runs from October 17 to 23.
A French Air Force Memorial is being unveiled in York Minster on October 20, the first French war memorial in an English Cathedral, and a variety of other activities have been planned to coincide with the service.
Events are expected to include a vintage Citroen display in St Sampson’s Square in York, and a Hawker Hurricane on display in the city centre.
