Regarding your article in The Press last week on caring in the community (Counting the cost of care, September 1), this has been lurking in the shadows all summer.
Now it is out in the open - old people do not matter, not to City of York Council anyway. The help that is vital to older citizens is to be cut. Even if you pay £14 an hour and you are a "medium" requirement person, that is if you don't need hoisting, bathing or feeding, your help is stopped. It doesn't matter if you are disabled, unable to drive, or find difficulty in walking, you can fend for yourself. "What are our MPs doing about it?" you may ask.
