SKELTON Park Golf Centre is planning to celebrate the 140th Open Championship in style.
On Sunday, the final day’s play at Royal St George’s in Sandwich, Kent, the Shipton Road venue is holding a nine-hole yellow ball competition.
In teams of three, each team member plays with a yellow ball for three of the holes and then score for their team.
The competition, in a stableford format, precedes an individual challenge where only three clubs, of the centre’s choice, can be used – one of which will be a putter.
An 18-hole strokeplay pairs competition will also be staged but the partner will be on of the top 30 professionals playing in the final day of The Open.
Having been drawn a ‘partner’, his score for the third round will then be added to the score of the player at the end of his round to get an overall total.
