Another big win for Stamford Bridge kept them four points clear in division three, but second place is wide open after Knaresborough King James’ stumbled at home to bottom club Cawood.

It came down to a battle of the captains in the final round, with Cawood’s Tony Gosling and team-mate Chris Abbot winning 10-2 to help Cawood to their first win. Strensall are now bottom after a loss at Sutton-on-Derwent, who had 15-year-old George Hobson making his debut alongside his dad, Chris, and top-scoring with 23 games in a 65-43 success. Sherburn breezed into second place after a confident defeat of Boston Spa 2.

The joint-top showdown in division four saw Rowntree Park 2 pinch the points at Wilberfoss, with their narrow 56-52 win sending them two points clear. Phil Sinton and Peter Hunt were on form for Manor CS, winning 28 games in a 60-48 win at Copmanthorpe 2. Castlegarth 2 paid the price of having only two regulars on duty, with an 80-28 home reverse against Dunnington 2, who are now joint-second. Wigginton 2 did the double over Fulford 2, winning 62-46.

In division five, all three Starbeck pairs hit 20-plus games for a big 71-37 win at York 3 to stay in the hunt for a trophy.
