Boston Spa won 57-51 at Fulford in a tight encounter, while Appleton Roebuck took the points from another close game with Copmanthorpe, thanks to a 10-2 success for Emma Cashmore and Judy Marriott.

In division two, Wheldrake eased to victory by two games against Pocklington, with Sarah Smelik and Eleanor Bradshaw the only couple to return three wins.

Sandra Pauw and Vanessa Kennedy were in devastating form as they won 39 games as Rowntree Park beat Poppleton 67-41.

Leaders Castlegarth were too strong for Wistow, with Jill and Emma Abel spearheading a 72-36 victory.

Denise Bolam and Suzie Booth only dropped two games as Dunnington beat Escrick 87-21, while David Lloyd won 87-21 against Bubwith thanks to 31 games from Frances Mutter and Louise Dwyer.

Riccall went top of division four after Sue Warren and captain Sue Shouksmith won 24 games in a 62-46 success over Copmanthorpe.

Starbeck are only two points behind after a win over Cliffe that featured 30 games from Lynne Garne and Becci Jones.

Jean Hunter and Louise Wilkinson had three good wins as Pocklington beat Knaresborough 68-40.

Fulford top division five after a 66-42 win at Sheriff Hutton. Sue Watson and Jenny Rowland won 26 games, while Pam Mason and Helen Martin chipped in with 22.

Rufforth beat David Lloyd in a division six title tussle. Their 60-48 win took them top, with Kate Lewis and Christine Edmonds the only couple to take their three rubbers.
