The News Of The World scandal has opened up a can of worms that looks like developing into a pit of snakes.
The seeds of this mess were sown in 1997 when Labour took power and Alistair Campbell decided he was going to control the media by any means necessary.
The press have obviously seen what was happening and now use whatever steps are needed in order to get their story.
