There have been many letters recently from believers and non-believers in climate change.
It is undeniable that the earth’s climate is changing. Whether this is due to mankind or is some natural cycle linked in part to solar activity is the real question.
Unfortunately, it will be the next generation that will have the answer to that one. They will either have to live with the consequences of our own stupidity, or they will laugh knowing that we fell for the carbon con. Either way, we are going to look foolish.
One thing is for certain though: we are running out of fossil fuels and as the ever increasing demand for these outstrips supply, the cost is only going to continue to rise.
In this case any initiatives that reduce the demand for fossil fuels will save us money in the long run.
If we don’t change our energy mix into a more sustainable and stable one we will continue to be plagued by an excessively volatile energy market.
Then we will definitely look stupid in the eyes of the next generation. We cannot continue down this path, climate change or no climate change.
