FAYE Hawksby closed 74 for 21 as Cueball proved too hot for Shepherd ‘A’ in their York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League division two match.

Leaders Clifton turned on the style at Ox, whose Tracy Green and Sam Stewart were the only ones to trouble the scorers.

Leeman ‘B’ ace Shelagh Kenny (140, 125) hit the heights, but Louise Iceton and Sam Lewis combined to seal a slender victory for Crystal Palace.

Flag ‘B’ were prevented from reaching top spot by the Woolpack pairing of Doreen England and Vicky McClaren.

Acomb’s Rose Gray closed treble 18, double top for a two-dart 94 as they held a 4-2 advantage over visitors Burton WMC, who polished off the remaining games with Joan Woods winning a lone-hand pairs to seal victory.

Slipper’s Sue Tate (140, 100) won the opening game against visitors and division one leaders Walnut Tree. It was to be their only success as the visitors won the remaining legs.

Burnholme’s Toni Smallwood gamed 20, including three 100s but she finished on the losing side as Denise Fowler and Flossy Crampton combined to secure a 5-4 win for visitors Ox, whose Maggie Tottie gamed 25.

Mount’s Gemma Hall included two tons as she gave them a 4-2 advantage at division three opponents Slip. The hosts, however, recovered. Lucy Barrow and Valerie Burfield narrowed the gap, then colleagues Felicity Whittingham and Amber Powell set up the decider. Mount’s Joyce Kane and Sue Gillan secured victory in the close encounter.

Division Three teams should note that Mount are now playing at Edward VII, Nunnery Lane.
