The siting of the Big Wheel behind the Art Gallery was considered to be out of character with the historic city centre of York, and yet it was proposed to put a Big Screen in Parliament Street for the 2012 Olympics.
Thankfully the much-maligned Splash Palace has scuppered that idea.
Who was going to be watching this screen anyway? Workers are working, tourists looking at our beautiful city, and residents would be watching at home.
