POLICE are appealing for information after a police car was nearly hit by another car outside New Burlington Primary School, in Bridlington.
The marked police vehicle was travelling along Marton Road, towards Scarborough Road, at about 11pm on Saturday.
As the vehicle passed the school, approaching the blind bend, it was almost in collision with a black VW Golf which was overtaking on the wrong side of the road.
Police attempted to follow the vehicle but lost sight of it heading towards Bempton Lane. The vehicle was later located locked up on the B1255 Flamborough Road.
Police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the incident. He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
