KNOWING that this was going to happen eventually (agencies to take over City of York Council carers), I am so very sorry for the elderly people on the receiving end of this change, my mother being one such person.
Agencies do not have a good reputation; therefore it would be interesting to hear from real people, not city officials, to say how they feel agency carers compare with our lovely, devoted City of York carers, whom I cannot praise enough.
Are our elderly now in the hands of Lady Luck as to who is going to see to their, sometimes extremely personal, needs?
We know how difficult it is to change the routine of our elderly and new routines, new faces (I would love to know the turnover of staff compared with that of City of York carers) are so hard to deal with. I feel I should stop writing now as I could go on; and I find the whole situation upsetting.
