AS Conservative Party candidate for Osbaldwick, I have been in discussion with City of York Council regarding locating a suitable area of land for use of minimotos, (small motorcycles) for the children of Osbaldwick, Tang Hall and Heworth. It has been concluded, after research, that due to lack of available land around York, a suitable location cannot be located and the other alternative is for a private individual or company to provide facilities on private land, that meets all safety requirements for minimoto use.
As a Conservative candidate, I believe that more leisure facilities need to be provided in York, for our children and ourselves.
Doing this will help reduce antisocial behaviour that is a problem in our city and society, but due to the incompetence of this Lib-Dem-run council in York we only see closure of such facilities, like the Barbican Centre, that everybody wanted to keep; and at the potential loss of £2 million to York residents.
