FULFORD Conservatives came from behind to beat Wigginton B' in the final of the York Amateur Bowling Association (Veterans' Section) Triples Competition at the Retreat.
It looked bleak for Keith Ryder, Lewis Wilkie and Ray Bell (skip) as Wigginton led 11-5 after seven ends. The Fulford trio then scored seven shots on the next five ends to lead 12-11 and the 13th end proved unlucky for Wigginton as Fulford scored six shots to go 18-11 up and went on win 19-14.
Trophies were presented by Eric Bramma, president of the York ABA.
The annual match between the divisional champions and the executive committee will be played at Shipton BC on Tuesday, September 5. The presentation of trophies will be at 1.30pm.
