EARLIER this year, many Leeman Road residents who live near to Back Park signed a petition that read: "Save Back Park as an outdoor, dry-surface recreation area for Leeman Road's residents and children."
The text of the petition also stated trees must not be removed, the area must not be built on and asked the council to promise the area would remain a recreation area.
On Tuesday, September 5, at 5pm, the petition will be discussed at the meeting of the executive member for leisure and culture advisory panel.
If you want to ensure residents' views are listened to, you can speak at the meeting. To do so, you need to register by 10am, on Monday. Phone 01904 552030.
Coun Tracey Simpson-Laing, Salisbury Road, Leeman Road, York.
