Poppleton Tennis Club held an opening tournament in aid of York Samaritans.
A round-robin format, with the winners and runners-up in the two sections playing against each other, produced an exciting final and saw junior Ben King and veteran Julian Crabb beat Linda Moore and Rob Baines. The winners received crystal glasses presented by Rod Clark.
