THE number of parents and carers of primary school-age children in North Yorkshire who have secured their first school preference has risen.
More than 95 per cent of families were allocated their preferred primary school in the region, an improvement of 2.4 per cent on last year.
North Yorkshire County Council said all 6,115 children who were the subject of applications for a school place will today receive notice of school places.
Coun John Watson, said: “We work with schools across the county to deliver the highest standards of education so families who are not given first preferences will be able to send their children to good schools.”
