REFERENCING unsung landmarks in our region (Is this one of the unsung landmarks of our skyline? The Press, August 25), my favourites in York are the following: Bedern Hall, Bedern in Goodramgate; Bowes Morrell House in Walmgate; Fulford Market Cross, alongside of Iceland stores in Fulford Road; King's Manor, in Exhibition Square (coat of arms above the doorway is fabulous!); Piking well, in New Walk, with the River Ouse leading through to Fulford Fields; all the beautiful trees along the walk; and last, but not least, Rowntree Park, given to the citizens of York.
We are so lucky to have such lovely surroundings in easy reach of the city.
Mrs B Pettitt, Navigation Road, York.
