CAMPAIGNING for the pending elections has reawakened questions about the apparent delay by the local authority in rejecting the unpopular application for the Ryedale gas development.
However, it seems that Moorlands is being given more time to try to justify its proposals, which it has failed to do so far. An article in last week’s paper said that Moorlands was considering its options and we hope that the company will now come to its senses and accept the only safe and rational option of siting the processing facility close to the wellhead.
This would cause the least disturbance, overcome most of the objections and gain the support of the majority of residents in Thornton-Le-Dale, Wilton and Ebberston.
