WITH regards to councillor Sandy Frazer’s attack on Julian Sturdy’s farm subsidy entitlement (Letters, April 2), may I state I do not know Geoff Robb so did not collude with him in any way. His letter seems to have been co-incidental as far as I am concerned.
As for Mr Sturdy ‘milking’ the entitlement, Coun Frazer obviously did not note the reasons why we receive legitimate subsidy. It is EU policy, as I stated. His expenses, which we contribute to by council tax, seems to have escaped his notice. Incidentally, I was an urban district councillor for seven years over 46 years ago, and never claimed a penny.
I appreciate times change and what was once an ‘honour’ to serve your district, one now could not do this financially, as I said councillor Frazer, we all depend on each other, did you miss the point?
Mrs Pamela Frankland, Hull Road, Dunnington.
