EIGHT Primary Schools from across North Yorkshire are taking part in a competition for the Easter Gathering on Good Friday, writes Sarah Gilbank.
Each primary school has produced an artistic scene from the Easter story in a bid to win £100, donated by the Fitzwilliam Estate.
The pictures are on display in a shop window on the corner of Wheelgate and Old Maltongate, in Malton.
Judges of the competition include Matt Brash, of the Zoo Vet At Large television series, Jason Fitzgerald Smith and Jean Garner, representing Fitzwilliam Estates.
They judged the competition last week, and the winners will be announced at the Easter Gathering event on Good Friday, April 22, in Malton Market Place.
The gathering is from 10.45am, and will include a service in front of St Michael’s Church, performances by a brass band and a choir, games and refreshments.
The event is free and open to everyone.
