WHILE enjoying a cycle ride on the solar system cycle path with two of my grand-kids, we suffered a burst tyre.

Although I had a pump, I wasn’t carrying a repair kit and it looked like we would have to walk the five miles back to York. Luckily, John and Catherine, from Sydney but working at the university campus in Fulford, came to our rescue, and not only repaired the burst tyre, but made a couple of running repairs to the kids bikes.

I’d like to pass on a big thank-you to John and Catherine, as what was already a long day could have been much longer. I would also like to let them know we got home safely, without further incident.
