A YORK doctor hopes to have raised as much as £2,000 for charity after completing the London marathon in under four hours.
John Lockett, 53, of Acomb, who works at Jorvik Medical Practice, said: “I’m pleased to say I survived and completed the marathon. The heat made it really tough, but still broke four hours, to finish in three hours, 56 minutes.”
The GP said he had raised £1,700 so far for the Shaw Trust, which helps disadvantaged and disabled people get into work.
