I WISH to comment on the state of the mound surrounding Clifford’s Tower.
The numerous signs that say “Keep off the grass” go completely ignored by children and parents. Passing recently, parents were taking pictures of children clambering up people-made steps and squashing the daffodils. Over the past year it has become noticeable how people are ignoring the signs. If this continues, the whole area is going to become a muddy mess.
Surely, for what is one of the finest monuments in the city something should be done to protect the grassed area from becoming an eyesore.
The signs are not working and it is time to look beyond them at some sort of fence to keep people off.
I wonder how many other people have noticed how badly worn the grassed area is becoming and if anyone of the powers that be are prepared to do anything about it.
