A MAN has been seriously injured following a collision with a coach carrying around 40 elderly people near Easingwold.
The driver of the car suffered serious injuries in the collision on the A19 Easingwold bypass at around 5.30pm.
The bypass is expected to remain closed until around 11pm while police investigations continue.
None of the passengers on the coach suffered serious injuries.
A police spokesman said: “A number of passengers were walking wounded with minor injuries and were treated by paramedics. The driver of the coach was also not injured. The coach passengers are currently being transferred onto another coach to continue their journey.”
A diversion is currently in place through Easingwold.
Police are appealing for witnesses of the collision to contact them.
